§ 2.36.050. Powers and duties generally.

  • The Library Board shall have the power and authority to plan the development of the public libraries within the City, for submission to the City Manager for approval and recommendation to the City Commissioners, and shall be charged with the duties of carrying out the policies of the City Commission with reference to the public libraries. The Library Board shall recommend to the City Commission all necessary rules and regulations governing the use and care of the public libraries. The Library Board shall review the annual budget as prepared by the librarian for each fiscal year and shall make recommendations to the City Manager for submission to the City Commission. The Library Board shall submit a copy of the minutes of each meeting to the City Commission.
